first heard of the steampunk phenomenon via an npr piece during my evening commute a coupla weeks back. while I’m insufficiently inventive, industrious, and fanatical to be a true proponent, I still feel entitled to say, ooohh, pretty. pretty much anything that mixes up wood and gears and geekdom is bound to catch my magpie eye.

it’s a sort of mad maxx/brazil/golden compass retrofuturistic kind of aesthetic.
