the trip was very nice– my tiny friend jen has just entered her third trimester with twins and is as big as any other full-term mother. the babies, those rascals, are apparently not letting her sleep already. but she carries it off with aplomb. it made me really happy to be back among the green and rolling hills and the quiet, though the flooded fields are pretty tragic.there is definitely kitsch appeal to the peculiarities that make up truck stop world– more than anything I guess I find it kind of awe-inspiring and fascinating. once an academic, I suppose, always, to some extent, an academic. ;)
The mind boggles.
it worries me, but I don't know why…
Those dolls are really. Effing. Creepy.
I'm so glad you provided photographic evidence. I think.
I am stunned….. um….. wow
totally horrific, definitely, but i do sooooo love me some roadside glitter. i'm a truckstop girl at heart. ;)hope the trip is good.
I love these places because they are so hideous. But I don't always like the look of some of the dudes who hang out at them.
and possibly follow up with intensive psychotherapy
I thought you were going to write 'intensive showering'.
Not that I mock. But still…no, thanks.

intensive showering conveniently enough, they provide for just that eventuality, should you so choose.
